About Me
Louisa Grantz is a talented musician and composer whose life is dedicated to her passion for music. Born in Hamburg, Germany, she discovered her passion for music at an early age, beginning piano lessons at just five years old. Her musical talent soon led her to explore other instruments, including the viola and violin, which allowed her to participate in numerous concerts and tours across Europe. One of the highlights of her career was the opportunity to perform at the newly built Elbphilharmonie in her hometown, where she met and played for the renowned acoustic engineer Yasuhisa Toyota.
Her early fascination with the instruments laid the foundation for a diverse musical journey, which has continually enriched her with new opportunities in the world of classical music.

Louisa completed her studies at the renowned Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London with distinction. Under the guidance of Professor Peter Tuite, the former head of the Keyboard Department, she refined her piano skills and broadened her musical horizons. Currently, she continues her musical education under the mentorship of Steinway Artist Alisdair Hogarth.

Eager to deepen her understanding of music from a scientific perspective, Louisa is also currently pursuing her academic aspirations by studying in the MSc program in Music, Mind, and Brain at Goldsmiths, University of London. Through her studies, she deepens her passion for understanding how music and frequencies affect the brain and the power music has over our thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Her interest in this scientific side of music stemmed from her passion for composing, and these insights elevate her understanding of music to a whole new level. Her compositional journey serves as a path for exploration, and she strives to use the science of music and frequencies to positively influence the world with her compositions.
Louisa’s passion extends beyond the boundaries of her formal education and includes various genres. She is actively involved in different projects, including leading a game music ensemble. Furthermore, she broadened her perspective by completing a diploma in music production, composition, and songwriting at the Songwriting Academy in London.

Louisa is convinced of the importance of collaboration in music, as she believes that when music is shared, it becomes a universal language. Through collaboration, music helps each artist find and develop their own style. She has been fortunate to learn from many different musical styles and languages through working with great artists, which has helped her shape her own.

Louisa's passion for collaboration and belief in the interconnectedness of the arts has inspired her to participate in various masterclasses, where she had the opportunity to learn from renowned musicians such as Professor Sergio De Simone, Professor Till Fellner, and Professor Péter Nagy. Orchestral performances under esteemed conductors like Krzysztof UrbaÅ„ski, Christoph Eschenbach, Thomas Hengelbrock, Christoph von Dohnányi, Garrett Keast, and Anna Meredith have further enriched her musical journey. Additionally, it was a great honor for her to perform at Bellevue Palace in Berlin before Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and at the prize-winners' concert for child protection in front of Auma Obama.
